Irish moss belongs to the red seaweed family and grows on the North Atlantic coast. Widely used in the food and cosmetic industries for its stabilising properties, Irish moss is also used in the medicinal field due to a high content of vitamins, minerals and amino acids with anti-rheumatic, remineralising and toning actions. The cosmetics industry became interested in Irish moss for its capacity for survival in extreme conditions of intense cold and low light.
