Zerumbet ginger

Zerumbet ginger is a herbaceous plant native to India which then established itself in Polynesia hundreds of years ago. There it is considered a sacred plant thanks to its many benefits in the medicinal, dietary and cosmetic fields and also for its ornamental beauty. The plant is used as a condiment just like ginger, a more familiar plant and a close relative of the zerumbet.
